2021 Chablis 1. Cru, Beauroy, William Fevre, Domaine

    Robert Parker

The 2021 Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy is pretty and aromatic, bursting with notes of orange zest, green apple, white flowers and oyster shell, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy palate that concludes with a long, saline finish.

    Burghound

This is ripe enough to have elusive suggestions of exotic fruit on the white peach, maritime and quinine. There is excellent mid-palate density to the rich, delicious and solidly intense middleweight flavors that conclude in an agreeably dry and again, very saline-suffused finish. This will need to add depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range, but it could well do that.

    Decanter

Fevre's Beauroy has a little bit of oak in the blend. From a tank sample, this has been on fine lees since Spring 2022, with bottling due in Spring 2023. Seguier picked early here to avoid over-ripeness. Nice weight on the palate which lacks the density of some of the best premiers crus but makes for a very classy, pure and highly-enjoyable wine. Good salinity to finish. Seguier says that the adoption of Organic/Bio principles has really helped Beauroy. Drink Date 2023 û 2028.

    Jancis Robinson

50% aged 10-13 months in barrel. Woody/cedary aroma. Tight and zesty on the palate, more stone than fruit. Drink 2014-2019.
