Indice 1*.

Rose petals and orange zest create an aromatic but sprightly nose. The palate of this wine picks up these elements and adds juicy peachiness. But zesty orange still dominates, with mouthwatering aromatics and freshness. This wine is concentrated and round but the finish is dry, juicy, and appetizing, echoing subtle rose notes throughout.

Zind-Humbrecht is one of Alsace's leading names, and this softly spicy number provides a great introduction to Alsatian Gewurztraminer, with all the apricot, lychee and ginger spice that you'd expect but expressed with restraint and elegance. At the dry end of the Gewurz spectrum, it's complex and precise. You could lay down for another few years too, though it's already drinking beautifully now.
